Investigating Gerenuk Nutrition As A Model To Improve Nutrition of Browser Antelope Species.

This is a collaborative project between White Oak Conservation Center, Busch Gardens - Tampa Bay and the St Louis Zoo.  In this study, gerenuk nutrition is being investigated to see if improved nutrition will improve overall gerenuk health.  This study will examine the effects of two different diets on two groups of gerenuk cared for at White Oak Conservation Center. *Click here to download a flyer about this study*

 

Establishing Genome Resource Banks and Artificial Insemination Techniques to Augment Management of Okapi Metapopulations

The goal of this project is to establish genome resource banks for okapi and develop artificial insemination techniques, with a long-term aim to incorporate new genetic material into geographically disparate populations.
