Volunteer

White Oak Conservation volunteers are diverse and special members of our community. Our volunteers contribute their time, talent, and resources to support our mission to conserve threatened species of wildlife by increasing public awareness and helping to support our collaborated breeding, training, research and field programs.

When you join our volunteer team, you receive specialized training and a one-on-one meeting with our volunteer program manager before choosing which volunteer opportunity is most comfortable and right for you.

Minimum Requirements for Volunteering:

  • To volunteer you must be at least 16 years of age (with written consent of your parent or guardian)
  • Have a driver's license and your own transportation
  • Successfully pass background and reference screening

Due to the physical nature of some of the volunteer work, volunteers must have the health and physical condition sufficient to carry out the volunteer tasks without jeopardizing his or her well-being or the well-being of others.

How Long Can I Serve as a Volunteer?

We ask volunteers to commit to at least 12 hours per month for a minimum of 6 months, although many of our volunteers contribute much more. Each volunteer shift must be at least 4 hours in length. Depending on the type of volunteer service, some volunteer activities are on an as needed basis such as special events.  Opportunities for One-time-Only projects or year round projects for groups are also available.
