Camera Equipment:
Any camera, film or digital, will be fine but those with digital cameras and either multiple lenses covering a range of 70mm to 300mm, or zoom lenses in the same range will get the most benefit from the experience.  Bring as much memory card capacity as you have!  The more you have, the more you can shoot.  A good minimum would be 2 to 4 gigabytes.

Experience:
We welcome photographers of ALL levels.  The workshop will be conducive to learning from one another and include instruction that will suit everyone’s photographic needs.  No question is off limit, no inquiry too basic.  To maximize your enjoyment of the time here, do be familiar with your camera and controls.  Help will be provided but you should know how to adjust your camera without referring to the manual so you don’t lose photo opportunities with the animals.

Course Content:

  • Animal Behavior – how to photograph animals in the wild, comfort zones, working with nature.
  • Recognizing different types of light and how they affect an image.
  • Capturing the moment – Seeing and utilizing photographic opportunities in the wild, anticipating the shot, use of flash, equipment choice, setting up shots.
